Location: Logan,UT,United States Gender: Female Goal Type: Unknown Running Accomplishments: I discovered running at age ten and have been running in some capacity ever since. I was awarded the Spirit Award in the fifth grade at Wellsville Elementary during the annual Wellsville Mile competition at our school. I participated in track and field events during high school at Logan High School. I ran mostly for exercise and stress relief after high school and then in 2003 I ran in my first 5 K as I prepared for Air Force Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. I was the top female runner in my basic training flight and took 4th place in the base 5k while I was there. Recently I decided to start training for the Top of Utah Marathon held in September. From January to April I completed the Winter Training Series sponsored by Strider's of Layton, Utah. I ran in and completed a 5 k, 10 k, 10 miler, 1/2 marathon, and a 30 k as part of the series. Though I came in 10th in my age group, just completing each race without giving up is my greatest accomplishment so far!
Short-Term Running Goals: I want to complete a full marathon, specifically the Top of Utah in September. I would also like to improve my average time of 10 minute miles for longer runs to 8 minute miles! Long-Term Running Goals: I hope to run in the Boston, St. George and the New York City Marathons and complete some Triatholons. Personal: I am married with three children and currently working to complete my bachelor's degree in Health Education and Political Science Teaching at Utah State University. I am in the Air Force Reserves and am a Medical Technician at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. I love running in the outdoors, biking with my family, swimming and dancing. I currently dance with the Cache Valley Civic Ballet. I hope to someday attend Medical School to become a physician. I also love National Public Radio and try to be active in my local community!
